Membership News July 2023

Lots has happened since we made the decision to create and commit to our Club. We honestly could not get where we have come without you all. Every little bit of help has helped us grow - we were all a little terrified when we decided to go live - but you have all made it a little less scary.

See some of the updates and general news below - and remember, we've only been going for just under two months! We are excited to see what else will come.

THE HALL
We were so excited to get an extra slot every Wednesday evening for our members. Claire could hardly contain her excitement to announce it to everyone.

Please diarise the upcoming Kwaai Sunday dates:
Sunday 23 July 10am-12pm
Sunday 30 July 10am-12pm
Sunday 6 August 10am-12pm
Sunday 27 August 10am-12pm 

Please note that we now allow drop-ins for both Wednesday and Sundays at R60. We are running a special until the end of July for a drop-in bundle. If you'd like to share with your skate friends, they can fill out the form here: https://forms.gle/ZMVPG63KMtcmdwpn9

THE COURT
The weather in June was just NOT playing along, but the good news is that court repairs began this week! This means the court should be open to skate on from the third or fourth week in July.

The fencing and the wooden structure will also be fixed during this phase.

How court access will work
The court will be open from 9am - 9pm every day for court access members to use. You will be getting a separate email with the lock combination on it so you can come and go as you please. We will be changing this combination every month. Those who have paid for that month will get the code. You will have stickers on your membership card for the months you've paid for.

Make sure to lock your belongings and self in the court while using it for extra safety precautions.

Please remember to bring your membership card so that Taariq does not let strangers in. It also helps people contact your emergency contact if needed.

MERCH
We've created some awesome apparel for our team to wear because we love Kobra Kwaai that much. A lot of people have been asking about merch, so we decided to open orders up to the public 🙂

We are finalising orders 1 August, so order before then if you'd like anything - there are a few options to choose from.

WOMEN'S DAY
We love our ladies. On 9 August (yes it's far away - but save the date!) we will be doing something extra special.

Our skate session that Wednesday will be from 10am-1pm. Bring the women you celebrate and skate with - there will be no drop-in fees for ladies <3

The evening session on Wednesday 9 August will not be happening.
